Biography

When asked what inspired Dr. Joseph Ball to become a Doctor of Chiropractic he responds, "It was my own chiropractic miracle experience. I suffered for over 10 years with sharp stabbing neck pain from an old football injury. The medical profession gave me drugs, medications, and ten days of traction. Nothing helped. I was told to live with the pain. A good friend suggested that I see a chiropractor. My first adjustment gave me miraculous relief, which in turn inspired me to pursue chiropractic as a career choice. I wanted to help others as I had been helped. I am passionate about the science and philosophy of chiropractic. To free people from their pain and suffering, to relieve them of nerve interference, to facilitate restored nerve function so they can experience the health they deserve. . . those are things to be passionate about."

Dr. Ball has been in practice with his wife in El Cerrito since 1983. Skilled in a variety of adjusting procedures, Dr. Ball has chosen to specialize in Atlas Orthogonal Upper Cervical Chiropractic which is a highly specific upper cervical adjusting procedure that requires extensive post-graduate training. "This technique helps people when other approaches have failed," says Dr. Ball. "It helps everything from HEADACHES and SCIATICA to organic conditions such as MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS, FIBROMYALGIA, and CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME. The Atlas Orthogonal adjusting procedure is an excellent technique for everyone, and because it is a very gentle procedure, children and the elderly handle it very well."

Although Ball Chiropractic Center features the Atlas Orthogonal as a primary technique, the Doctors are trained in a variety of full spine adjusting procedures. Treatment recommendations are specific to the needs of each patient. Ball Chiropractic Center is a "family practice". We treat a broad range of ages and conditions. Dr. Ball is particularly noted for his ability to take care of children and women throughout their pregnancy.
